This page will include activities in which to attend as well as neat and fun activities geared toward elementary aged children.
- A great way to see some cool stuff through awesome telescopes is to visit the Rock Creek Park at the field at the intersection of Military and Glover Roads. They meet on the third Saturday of each month between April and November. The Park provides about 3 really nice telescopes and people of all ages and experience are welcome, and it’s free!
- Another great resource is the United States Naval Observatory site. You can take a tour here, but they only give them on Monday nights from 8:30-10:00pm. Not ideal for taking children, but they do have this resource site which gives you some options for different places that allow public viewing and “Star Parties,” which are particularly cool.
